How to

How to create a free photography portfolio

You can publish a real photography portfolio today, for free, without buying a domain or learning a page builder. Here is the whole process on Gallerya, start to finish.

1. Choose your handle

Your handle becomes your portfolio address: gallerya.online/@yourname. Pick the name you already use professionally so people recognise the link in a bio, an email signature, or a print.

2. Upload a tight edit, not everything

Twenty strong photographs beat two hundred good ones. Upload a batch at once; Gallerya optimises the files and reads camera, lens and exposure information from them, so the technical details are ready if you want to show them.

3. Order the grid and build collections

Drag photographs into the sequence you want visitors to read. If you shoot more than one kind of work, split it into collections so each series has its own page and its own link.

4. Add the context that wins inquiries

Fill in a short description, your location, an About Me section, and your social or website links. Add a contact email and people can reach you directly; direct messages work inside Gallerya too.

5. Share it, and let it be found

Every portfolio, photograph, collection and blog post on Gallerya gets its own page with proper titles, descriptions and structured data, so profiles and images can be indexed by search engines rather than trapped behind a login.

What free includes

Portfolio, collections, blog posts, direct messages, and a generous upload allowance are all free. If your archive grows past it, premium members of The Global Photography Community get higher upload limits.
